Maui customers affected by the Consolidated Theatres closure at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center may make arrangements for reimbursements for gift cards and ScreenSaver tickets through Dec. 31, according to Consolidated’s website.

Current residency on Maui is required. A reimbursement form can be found at https://www.consolidatedtheatresblog.com/kaahumanu.

Consolidated, which said it has been at the mall location for nearly 30 years, showed its last movies on Sunday.

In a statement Monday, the company said it was an honor to serve its guests at Ka’ahumanu Center and alluded to declining audience levels since the pandemic.

“Beyond providing a space to watch films, Consolidated Theatres welcomes guests into movie magic experiences. While audience needs at this location did not quite reach their pre-pandemic levels, we have seen dynamic growth across several locations in attendance, concession sales, and in response to our signature programming,” the company said.

“With the wonderful support of our community, we are focused on furthering our investments where need is high to meet these demands, and in providing our guests with entertainment excellence into the next 100 years.”

The mall location had 10 employees. The company said it is offering employees a chance to consider opportunities at other locations. Consolidated Theatres has several locations on Oahu.
