Caffeine-starved drivers from a sleepy Moscow suburb will now have a chance to get their hot brew without stepping out of the car after Starbucks opened Russias first drive-through coffee branch on Friday.

Caffeine-starved drivers from a sleepy Moscow suburb will now have a chance to get their hot brew without stepping out of the car after Starbucks opened Russia’s first drive-through coffee branch on Friday.

A decade after opening its first Russian branch in 2007, the American coffee chain is now ready to test the country’s appreciation for the frappuccino on the road.

The drive-through was opened on the Krasnoarmeyskoye Highway in the city of Pushkin, the Vedomosti business daily reported Friday.

Dmitry, the first official customer at the branch, waited for over an hour to become the first person in Russia to get a cup of coffee without leaving his car.

The historic news may be just what Muscovites were looking for in the second worst city for traffic jams in the world.
