Yachty was influenced by artists like Lil B, iLoveMakonnen, Soulja Boy, and the band Coldplay. His debut mixtape, Lil Boat, was released in March 2016 by Quality Control Music. The album peaked at #113 on the Billboard 200 and featured the singles “One Night”, “Minnesota” and “Hollywood”. The single “Minnesota” also made the rounds on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. The mixtape Lil Boat saw collaboration from artists like Young Thug, Quavo and Burberry Perry. Yachty was featured on D.R.A.M. 2016 single “Broccoli”.
